🛌 Are you the 1 in 10?

Burnout is now impacting 10% of us - put yourself first!

Happy Friday! You’ve made it through another week (albeit a four day week for most of us). Enjoy this week’s must-reads and have a great weekend.

🤩 Your Five For Friday 🤩

  1. 🌭Is "cloud restaurant" services the future? - Tell the restaurants what you want even if not on their menu, not sure large restaurants would love this but huge opportunity to build a USP on delivery apps

  2. 🤔 YouTube trending which is one of the most popular discovery methods online is favouring advertiser friendly content over creators content (⏯video available here)

  3. 💬 North Face and Wikipedia got into this week over a marketing stunt, obviously Wikipedia were not impressed and blogged about it - marketing has always been about improving APP (Awareness, Perception and Preference) you could argue North Face and agency did this.

  4. 📺 Here’s how the PowerPoint creator at Microsoft stops death by PowerPoint (in 5 easy tips)

  5. 🙃Scary AI (click on the tweet below to view)

🎧 Must Listen Of The Week 🎧

It’s a must watch must listen share this week, Simon Sinek can divide opinion but start with why and his LinkedIn series are great, if you have ten mins, take a listen to his advice and i’m pretty sure you’ll be able to apply in your every day

🤔Final Thought 🤔

One network I have never cracked is…Reddit, (I highly recommend Ask Me Anything book) Reddit is the social network that goes deep, with out 150k communities, 150m posts & 1.2 billion comments in 2018 alone (it’s often the driver for viral content and can see in-depth conversation for many important topics), here is a good podcast diving into reddit, their approach and their community first angle. I’m lucky to see many successful campaigns being powered by communities and most recently Reddit subreddits driving huge interest and support. The web is evolving, it is going back to communities and being able to voice your opinions, concerns or ask for help without a troll or random person giving you their unvalued opinion or comment. I have four things that connect people: Topic, Cause, Interest, Local (and 4 reasons why people share online; Love, Hate, Anger, Vanity) all four play into Reddit’s world and the way the web is being shaped by companies and users wanting to take back their identity and spend their time in places of value; it has posed the questions: Is it time for us to re-think platforms we use? or: Give Reddit or more discussion based platforms another chance? Quora got a huge round of funding again and many people are talking about it’s value in their day to day.I know i’ll be firing up the Reddit app again this weekend. Will you?
