>> Work Must Reads

> The 22 Leadership Lessons From 2022 👩‍🏫- The 22 lessons to takeaway from this year, broken down into bad practises, hybrid work, coaching and company culture, so many you can apply throughout 2023.

> Google's Ads Powering The Good & The Bad Side Of The Net 👀 - This is a really powerful read on how Google powers the good sites and the questionable sites online with their ads product. Google is coming under attack from new tech players but their real secret sauce many experts overlook is how they fund/power so many sites' revenue it's hard to come off until you are eventually banned.

> How Subscription Sites Help Athletes 🤜 - Something you might know is I am a big MMA (that's UFC to most). A trend that has happened over the last couple of years is that athletes create a fan site or go onto platforms like OF and make a secondary income so they can afford to be a fighter. Many earn a lot more on those sites than they can do fighting and it often pays for recovery and rehab. We will likely see fan sites and communities spring up and rely on fans to pay to support these athletes.

> Timbaland X Brand Collabs 👢 - It's going to be my 22nd year working in 2023 and partnerships & collaborations are the hardest workstreams I have operated in, rarely works for both sides and one side ultimately takes a loss, however, Timbaland seems to have nailed collabs, this piece breakdown why they are successful & how they keep their relevancy.

> Rapid Delivery Reality 🛵 - Good piece on what's happened for q-commerce in 2022 from finding its real (PMF) product-market fit (or real lack of), the mergers and acquisitions and the shift to 30+ minute delivery - not the lorded 10-minute delivery. This is going to be a brutal space in 2023.

TikTok Of The Week > Productivity Guilt

> Walk Outs & Strikes Cost UK £2b 😡  - Many outside of the UK haven't seen the number of strikes that have happened here in the UK, it has had a huge impact from healthcare to schooling to delivery of letters and online orders. The impact is going to be felt throughout 2023 and is something the government has selected to use as a blame game tactic rather than understand the true impact and find the solutions.

> Zooms 2022 📉- Actually useful information supplied by Zooms internal data and usage data across its platform. The pic above shows how TW&T's are being used by many companies. Hint move away from real-time meetings and more towards async if you want to make hybrid work, work!

> Roblox Selling Destination 🙋‍♀️🙋 - Roblox is continuing its expansion in selling items for its users and being a destination to play and to buy, if there's a glimmer of hope for the metaverse (which is a loooooong way away) it will come from gaming + commerce.

> 2022 The Year Of Work Experimentation 🙈  - Good recap: Work has been an experiment for many, with WFH, hybrid work, fully remote and WFA (anywhere) all tried this year, some really struggling to adapt to a dfull return to the office alongside the numerous layoffs. Just remember most management teams came up and were conditioned within the office environment and struggle to understand how to manage & lead differently.

> A Quick Review 👇  - When I covered the Dyson headphones and air purifier it became the most replied-to newsletter I have sent out, here is a quick look at the ~$1000 and how it works.

>> Life Must Reads

> How TikTok Star Rod Reduces His Anxiety ☑️  -  I have shared Rod's TikToks previously, he speaks to Wondermind about reducing his anxiety (it's quite sobering).

Thanks for reading again this week, I hope you have a happy holiday period and get some well-deserved R&R! I'll land in your inbox next week with a quicker end-of-year fix.
